Headrush FRFR108 MKII

Objednal som si Headrush FRFR-108 MKII ako nový produkt – očakával som nepoužitý, originálne zabalený kus. Namiesto toho mi prišiel pravdepodobne používaný tovar, ktorý mohol byť vystavený v predajni alebo niekomu už predtým vrátený. Balenie nebolo vo fabricky novom stave, produkt mal známky manipulácie a celkovo to nepôsobilo ako nový kus za plnú cenu.

Kontaktoval som zákaznícku podporu, no namiesto ospravedlnenia som sa stretol len s vyhýbavými odpoveďami. Neposkytli mi jasné vysvetlenie a žiadnu kompenzáciu za vzniknutú situáciu. Počas celého procesu som mal pocit, že im nezáleží na dôvere zákazníka – a to ani pri technike, ktorú muzikanti kupujú s vysokým očakávaním kvality.

Thomann som v minulosti považoval za spoľahlivý obchod, ale táto skúsenosť ma presvedčila, že v budúcnosti si dám veľký pozor, či ešte niečo objednám. Transparentnosť a korektný prístup k zákazníkom je pre mňa základ.

I now have a pair of these (this paired with Mk1). The specs are updated though I can’t really notice any difference in sound, but then surely that’s how it should be given its ’FRFR’! However, the original was good enough and pairs very well with my HX Stomp (also old Vox Tonelab SE and a couple of others). The Bluetooth is a welcome addition and hardware volume control is handy. Connects and remembers. A solid unit; the 8’ version is super portable, storable and fits into nooks that challenge other gear!

1. Regards to the sound, cannot fully say it’s FRFR as the patches needs tweaking. Has lot of lows considering the 8” speakers size. It has a HPF which is quite useful. Placement of the speakers also changes how it hits your ears.
2. I was comparing these to the QSC K8.2 which is like a PA monitor wished the FRFR 108 had more options like the QSC but for the price it’s great.
3. Overall these sounds great for the price and size and can be used as Tops with Subs in small venues.
4. In regards to the delivery time a bit disappointed as shipping took a long time to reach although the Germany and Belgium is quite near. The entire process of paying to delivery was bit slow and had to communicate via email and calls. Otherwise the people at Thomann were quite helpful & Polite so in the end I am happy

I've recently gone ampless on stage and am not a fan of in ear monitoring as they irritate my ears after a while. I also find the bass reproduction on in ears to not be great unless you are using top end ear buds.

I now play through a bass preamp pedal. I take a DI direct to the desk and a line out of the preamp to this monitor that sits at my feet. I can adjust the volume of my monitor without changing the front of house level.

Although there is a good DI out on the monitor too if you prefer to go to front of house from there instead of using the DI on your preamp. I have done this several times and the DI out on the monitor is excellent.

The 2 inputs on the back are dual connections i.e. xlr and jack which is very handy. It also doubles as a Bluetooth speaker if you want to bring it to a house party 🥳 ✨️ 😎.

As it's a flat response speaker, it doesn't colour the sound in any way and you get the sound of your bass and / or preamp only.

As a monitor for my bass it's perfect. I cannot speak to it's suitability for guitars but it suits my needs perfect.

Pops into a carrier bag that's easy to transport from gig to gig. Small pocket on the front of the monitor bag has room for a kettle lead, guitar lead and a jack to xlr lead for the line out of my bass preamp to feed the monitor.

Would definitely recommend this product.
