Die Tiefen sind alle da, auch die „Magenschwinger“, und mit ein paar Handgriffen und üblichem Know-How wie Positionierung, EQing etc. sollte sich der gewünschte Sound realisieren lassen - entsprechende Trommel, Stimmung, Lautsprecher/Subwoofer ... vorausgesetzt. Im Vergleich zum BD200 bringt es das, was die meisten von einem Bass-Mikro wirklich erwarten, Bass von ganz tief bis nach oben.

Noch ein Tipp:
Wem die üblichen Tom-Tom-Mikrofone generell zu hölzern klingen ... da das BD300 relativ preiswert ist, kann man sich überlegen für alle Toms welche zu kaufen. Ab 12“ und tiefer gibt es einen schönen warmen satten bassigen Sound damit. Also wer es eigentlich für die Bass-Drum kauft, sollte dieses Mikro einfach mal an den Toms oder auch großen Handtrommeln wie Djembe ausprobieren.

Das Mikro nimmt die tiefen Frequenzen gut auf. Um einen gut hörbaren Kick (Höhen) zu bekommen, muss es schon relativ nah ans Schlagfell, wobei man auch da auf einen EQ nicht verzichten sollte. Insgesamt ist es schwieriger, einen kompakten und dennoch durchsetzungsfähigen Sound zu bekommen, der sich im Mix durchsetzen kann. Es sind mehr "unerwünschte", brummelige Soundanteile vorhanden als bei den Klassikern. Auch mit EQ, Gate, Kompressor und Reverb klingt es nicht so satt und voll. Lässt man das Mikro gänzlich unbearbeitet, hat es nicht wirklich eine Chance gegen die Klassiker.

Das ist natürlich dennoch Geschmackssache, zumal man nicht Äpfel mit Birnen vergleichen sollte. Mancherorts macht sich ein so neutraler und nicht vordefinierter Sound allerdings nicht schlecht. Als Ersatz- oder Zusatzmikro - z.B. hinten am oder außen vor dem Reso - auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung. Bei dem Preis sowieso.

Als angehender Homerecordingmusiker war ich auf der Suche nach einem passenden Bassdrummikrofon, dass gut klingt und für den Einstieg nicht allzu teuer ist. Nachdem ich mich in mehreren Internetforen und Austauschbörsen für Musiker informiert hatte, fiel mir auf, dass immer wieder das T. Bone BD 300 Mikrofon erwähnt wurde. Bei dem Preis und 30 Tage Money Back kann man nichts verkehrt machen, dachte ich mir und bestellte es einfach mal. Das Mikrofon passt problemlos auf alle handelsüblichen Mikrofonständer und die Feststellklemme behält die eingestellte Position problemlos bei, was ja beim Aufnehmen sehr wichtig ist. Da verrutscht oder wackelt nichts!

Auch der Klang kann sich sehen bzw. hören lassen, und mit ein wenig EQ-Einsatz lassen sich doch recht beachtliche Ergebnisse mit viel Kick und einem schönen Bassfundament erzielen. Auch wenn ein Mikrofon einer solchen Preisklasse nicht mit teureren AKGs usw mithalten kann, ist es für den Preis und als Einsteigermikrofon doch sehr zu empfehlen. Als roadtauglich würde ich es auch einstufen, da es doch ein ordentliches Gewicht hat und einen soliden Eindruck macht. Das Gehäuse ist aus stabilem Metall gefertigt, nicht aus Kunststoff, wie das bei manchen "Kollegen" dieser Preisklasse der Fall ist.
