Hodně muziky za málo peněz

Potřeboval jsem nějakou levnou basu na hraní v hospodách, případně akcích, kam si nechci brát svého PB Fendera Mexico ani Squiera Frank Bello. Jelikož jsem Fendrař, hledal jsem nějakého Squiera a tenhle byl za absolutně nejnižší cenu. Shlédl jsem rychlou recenzi na Kytarách a šel do něj. Za sebe pár bodů a pohledů:

- To, že má levný pickguard - neřeším, jednoduše vyměním až přijde čas
- Zdá se mi, že krk úplně nelícuje s tělem, bude se to muset při servisu ještě narovnat
- Nemá lakovaný krk jako dražší modely, prostě "kus obroušeného dřeva"
- hraje krásně
-drží se skvěle
- je to moje trojka v basách pro případ nouze

Nevím, co za ty peníze kdo chce?! Za mě vynikající baskytara s krásnou barvou, celkové dílenské zpracování - ubírám hvězdičku, ale sakra, Squier za 4000 Kč?... Bez váhání bych ji doporučil všem začátečníkům i klidně basákům s praxí, kteří nechtějí kupovat bazarovku a mít rezervní basu.

Great bargain !!!

I did order this instrument for two reasons : I needed a factory PBass neck with Jazzbass dimensions and a nice California blue body.
Great attention to the package and protection by the chinese manufacturer.
Setup was nice out of the box.
Tuning machines are decent, although the frets are not crown, I couldn’t perceive any sharp edges.
Just some rock wool to make them shiny.
Only complain is Fender does promote a lightweight and thinner body but the weight is around 3,6Kg and the body thickness equals 4cm… so, nothing new here and pretty disappointing regarding what Fender claims.
Anyway, it’s a great instrument for the price !

This bass is literally unfinished

The frets edges are EXTREMELY sharp on both edges, it's unbelievable Squier would send a instrument like that. And anothe bizarre thing is, behind the neck, in the neck joint to the body, that place where the neck gets thicker but your hand still goes there... it's a square, the edges are not sanded AT ALL. Literally a square, it's unconfortable to play. I don't know if this is a quality control problem and I got unlucky, but it looks like a bass that was missing a few steps on the factory.

The sound: sounds great, like any precision, and the bass looks pretty. So if you wanna take this bass to a luthier for him/her to actually finish the instrument, then ok, but for just picking it up and playing, I would rather recoment you get a Harley Benton precision bass or a more expensive Squier, cause this one is unfinished.

Another detail: It neck dives. The body of this model is thinner than the regular precision basses, as a consequence, it's unbalanced and it neck dives.

Great bass for beginners

As a beginner, I wanted an accessible and affordable bass. This Squier Sonic P bass is just that. It has that lovely growly p bass sound, and the instrument is well made for one at this price point: smooth neck and frets, and although some reviews I have seen mention that the electronics are a bit cheap-feeling, I've not found this a problem (but then, I've never had the luxury of playing a £2,500 Fender P bass).
The bass needed quite a bit of adjusting out of the box with regard to the truss rod, but after that it is fine. The tuning machines are sensitive and it is simple to play with only one tone and one volume knob - no tech to worry about and allows the player to focus on technique. As a woman with smaller hands, I find the neck a challenge, but practice definitely helps. You may wish to buy an ergonomic padded strap to prevent neck or back or shoulder strain, as it is a solid 7 kgs and having a decent strap definitely helps.
Overall, I love my Squier Sonic P
It looks beautiful as well as sounding great.
