Recording King RR-36 Roundneck

Po mnoha letech kdy jsem postupně vlastnil asi deset rezofonických kytar, převážně s kovovým tělem a rezonátorem typu biscuit, jsem nakonec zakotvil u Recording King Dirty 30,´ rezofoniky se kterou jsem spokojený. Zatoužil jsem jí pořídit "sestřičku" s rezonátorem spider. Vzhledem k rozpočtu byla volba jasná.
Při rozbalování jsem zjistil že z kytary vypadl jeden kryt ozvučného otvoru (takové to sítko na čaj :-) zalepení zpět trvalo pár minut.
Zpracování je velmi dobré, povrchová úprava bezchybná, seřízení ok, kvalitní struny D´Addario. Sunburst je hodně tmavý, v šeru vnímám kytaru jako černou ale je to jen detail, ženě se velmi líbí.
Zvukově velké překvapení, silný sound s neskutečným sustainem, proti rezonátou biscuit je to hlasitější, basovější a výškovější, zvuk jde více zevnitř kytary. Mnohem více je slyšet rozdíl při použití různých slide trubiček, těžká mosazná Robert Johnson zní famózně. Velmi by mě zajímalo srovnání s nějakým drahým nástrojem jak velký ještě může být zvukový rozdíl. Roli samozřejmě hraje i zkušenost, hraju na rezonátory léta takže jsem byl na kytaře okamžitě jako doma, začátečník si bude muset zvykat.
Využití v country, bluegrassu i blues (můj případ) budu používat dvě, každou v jiném open ladění. Taky to myslím bude skvělá kytara do hlučné hospody kde hraje hodně nástrojů, rozhodně vás bude slyšet.

Before judging a resonator guitar, we must understand/accept that this type of guitar is by design a picky/demanding instrument. And in this case we have a relatively cheap instrument.
The appearance of the guitar is quite good, the materials seem of quality and the workmanship and finishing are acceptable. (When I opened the box, I did not find any label regarding the manufacturer and model anywhere, nor any quality certificate.)
The sound of the guitar is pretty good, although not very balanced across the entire fingerboard (for strings 4,5,6, the wound ones, the resonator-cone responds more and more attenuated towards the bridge). The sensitivity to the player's interaction is good, but does not excel. The bridge/saddle is not positioned precisely enough, and thus the musical notes played along the strings become increasingly out of tune as we approach the bridge.
The frets are unpolished, so they produce a scratchy sound when using the 'bend' technique.
The strings that the guitar arrived with are of poor quality, including from the perspective of the grating sound caused when using the 'slide' playing technique on strings 3,4,5,6 (wrapped/wound strings).
For me, the slightly larger neck width (44.5mm) and the glossy surface finish are particularly appreciated.
In conclusion, the guitar is good enough for familiarization with the 'resonator guitar' genre.
