Neben dem besonderen, sehr "leichten" Gefühl beim Anschlagen (aufgrund der geringen Dicke des Beckens) habe ich mich in dieses Becken verliebt. Vom Sound her schwer zu übertreffen, einfach perfekt ausgewogen, nicht zu warm und auch nicht trocken. Und auch optisch hat das Becken was zu bieten. Allerdings muss man ein wenig aufpassen, da dieses Becken aufgrund der sandgestrahlten Oberfläche anfällig für Flecken ist.

Jag spelar trummor i två band, ett coverband och ett reggae/ska band. Jag använder ett Sonor bop-kit med Remo fiberskyn på och ville byta ut mina cymbaler för att få ett komplett vintageset.
Som ett led i detta köpte jag Meinl 16" Byzance vintage crash.
Cymbalen passar mig perfekt! Den har ett mörkt ganska vashigt ljud med mycket få ljusa övertoner. Cymbalen har en liten, verkligen liten men ändå, trashig karaktär fast betydligt mjukare än en ren trashcymbal.
Den är förvånansvärt snabb i attacken vid tillslag och har en kort efterklang.

Cymbalen passar perfekt för den musik jag spelar och jag är helt övertygad om att den skulle vara underbar till jazz, soul och i viss mån hårdrock från 70-talet och bakåt.

Enligt mitt tycke har Meinl verkligen lyckats med att ta fram en cymbal som låter vintage på ett sätt som inte är överdrivet eller konstgjort.

Cymbalen är inte en del av Benny Greb signature serien men passar perfekt som ett komplement till dessa om man vill ha en lite mindre crashcymbal.
Jag har två av Benny Grebs signaturecymbaler så jag har testat :-)

Det jag kan se som en nackdel är väl att cymbalen är ganska tunn och att hårdslående trummisar (jag är inte en av dem) kanske ska fundera en gång extra innan de slår till. Kvalitén på cymbalen verkar vara riktigt bra men den är ganska tunn.

På det hela taget en riktigt bra vitagecrash!
