Amazing bass!

Very good bass, fully satisfied. I would compare it with the basses of $1000 league. Vintage tone is fantastic, a lot of growl with thick low range.
The bass arrived with good set up. The only what I did was the nut. In stock it was too high and cut inaccurately.
So, if you want a decent bass with good value, look at this option.

24 Jan 2023 update.
Still love this bass. It is flawless, plays nice, sounds amazing, no terrible single coil hum. Stock tuners and bridge do their job well. The quality of the neck gives an opportunity to have a very low action without annoying fret buzz.

The only complain is thin pads under the pickups which do not allow to raise pickups high. So, I put a piece of cardboard under the pickups and rose them.

My go to bass

It's been about a year since I bought this one.

Never again will I be spending upwards of € 1000 for a bass guitar, if the Marcus Miller standard stays like this. It sounds extremely clear, the knobs make for nice tweaking between elements, and the neck handles like a charm.

Don't hesitate to pick this one up if you're looking for an affordable J-bass.

Looks amazing! I can't comment on anything else yet as the bass arrived faulty with the bridge pickup not working. I will update this review once this is resolved by Thomann

Mein zweiter V5R

Ich fand meinen V5R in Natural so fantastisch, dass ich mir diesen in Mild Green zur "Reserve" gekauft habe, als er im hier im Angebot war. War sehr gespannt, ob er an meinen ersten herankommt. Das tut er, und wird jetzt wegen der minimal besseren Bünde sogar mein Hauptbass. Wieder eine unglaublich gute Verarbeitung für den Preis. Einfach ein stimmiges, hochwertiges Instrument, bei dem an den wichtigen Stellen nicht gespart wurde. Achtet mal auf die Kleinigkeiten, wie z. B. den einzig vernünftigen Zugang zum Truss Rod, den schönen String Tree, die guten D'Addario EXL-Werkssaiten oder die trotz Vintage Style schön massiven Bridge. Das hat alles Yamaha-Niveau. Gewicht 4,17 kg, also gar nicht so schwer, wie den Erlen-Sires oft nachgesagt wird. Zu leicht habe ich übrigens auch nicht gerne. Hier wackelt halt nichts herum, und mit einem vernünftigen Ledergurt hat man ein sehr sicheres Gefühl beim spielen. Das Ding growlt mal so richtig, und das wichtigste am Bass, der Hals, ist wieder ein Traum! Danke Thomann, dass Ihr die Sires hierzulande eingeführt habt
