One thing that doesn't get mentioned in Highwood's writeup is that these saddles are a bit shorter than standard (in terms of bridge to saddle, or in the string direction). This means that if your bridge is a little close to the nut to intonate well with the stock saddles, you can still intonate your guitar without cutting the springs. That's why I bought these and my guitar is finally intonated properly.

Other features - personally never had a big problem playing around the height adjustment screws but it seems like an improvement with no downside, for anyone who had this problem. The groove in the middle of the saddle is also very much appreciated, the strings will never slip sideways while bending now. The sound? A little different from stock, less treble played acoustically. The plugged in sound didn't change a huge amount.

TL;DR: these saddles are a very practical upgrade over stock. Would buy again. Tonewise it may be a sidegrade.

High wood saddles

Fitted high wood saddles to my Fender Stratocaster as l was forever catching the palm of my right hand on the adjustment screws on the fender saddles, so much better to play and has also improved the tone of the guitar, would highly recommend.

Die werden immer teurer!

Ich bin völlig von diesem Prinzip überzeugt, die Blechsattel zu biegen. Man verletzt sich nicht mehr den Handballen und die Gitarre klingt frisch und intoniert sauber. Allerdings sind die Gewinde so lieblos geschnitten, dass ich ewig fummeln musste, um die Reiter an den Steg zu schrauben. Ich habe geschworen, mich nach anderen Produkten umzusehen! Als allerdings alles montiert und eingestellt war, wusste ich, dass Higwood Saddles absolut der Standard sind. Auch, wenn sie schon wieder teurer geworden sind.
