This elecontrabass is solidly processed, holds well and the weight is low. The strings are smooth and totally keep tuning, although the sound is not the best. So far I am trying it and even though it is a lower class I am satisfied with the price. It will suit my folk and country playing. UPS delivery went smoothly and quickly - 5 days. Thanks so much mr.THOMANN

To get straight to the point, the side mounted support on this is terrible! Threaded inserts weren't very tightly pressed in and I had to expoy them back in when the started pulling out. The side support itself has this weird silicone-like sleeve which stops the bolts from sliding along the straight length of support, because of this the side support is very loose and wobbly. I ended up removing this sleeve and making new slots for the c-clips, so that they pressed up against the right angle.

The fingerboard also had a few buzy spots that I had to sort. I also had to file the nut slots as they are sky high.

It's also worth mentioning the string spacing at the bridge (around 24mm) is quite narrow compared to an acoustic upright (around 28mm).

The adjustable bridge also has a lot of slop and can move up and down as the holes in the top piece are much larger than the bolts that pass through them. This can cause the bridge to drag the strings upwards when tuning.

The on board pre-amp isn't too bad. I'd recommend keeping the sub-bass knob all the way down. The built in headphone amplifier is a useful feature too.

Overall it's fine if you want to tinker and once you've done that it can be a decent instrument, but if you want something playable out of the box I suggest you steer clear.

Upright fun at an affordable price.

I had wanted to expand into upright bass but the cost and size were prohibitive for me. This takes up very little space and is surprisingly affordable! Plus being electric I can add distortion which is more fun than I it should be! Comes with everything you need except a battery. Bow, rosin and case came with it.

Ich komme vom E-Bass und wollte mal wissen, wie sich ein DB so spielt. Ich habe also keine Erfahrung oder Vergleiche zu anderen Kontrabässen und spiele das Ding nur zuhause mit Kopfhörer.
Alles in Allem macht das Ding schon ziemlich Spaß. Ist griffig und handlich, klingt für meine Ohren auch gut. Den Haltebügel hab ich mir etwas zurechtgebogen. Ich hab mir auch mit weißem Edding die Bünde auf das Griffbrett gemalt, sehr hilfreich, wenn man keine DB-erfahrung hat.
Der erste Versuch, andere Saiten aufzuziehen ist fehlgeschlagen: Von der Mensur her ist es eigentlich ein 3/4, jedoch sind solche Saiten zu kurz, weil der Saitenhalter sehr weit vom Steg entfernt ist. Also nur 4/4-Saiten.
