Excellent quality instrument

I have been playing saxophone for over 30 years and in that time have been very lucky to find good but cheap instruments to buy or was issued Top rate Selmer’s during my military service. The time has come for me to spend a little more as I’m about to re-embark into the performance arena. I researched many instruments and reviews and thought I’d take a chance on Bettersax. Still a company which is establishing itself but having watched reviews it seemed like a good safe bet and with Thomann’s 30 day returns policy theres little to lose. The cognac lacquer makes the instrument stand out immediately along with the under slung octave key. I haven’t used the Bettersax mouthpiece as I have my own. The sax was Instantly responsive with a bright modern sound. The attention to detail on the left hand G# keys is exceptional. They are beautifully considered in their position and the ease at which you can move your pinky finger over them. The upper register is open and full and this doesn’t change right down through the full range. The only slightly duller tones around the middle D and Eb, unfortunately common to most saxes. The altissimo range felt seamless. Quite simply it is a pleasure to play. The only criticism would be that there is a little bit of movement at the top joint and as it’s a new instrument I don’t want to over tighten or soften the screw. The key mechanism is almost effortless. All in all a great buy has a happy sax player made.

Un excellent saxophone pour une somme modique…

C’est un saxophone qui sonne bien dès qu’on le sort de sa boîte. Il est agréable à regarder, son ergonomie est très bonne, il a une excellente justesse et il est facile à jouer, du grave au suraigu. C’est un instrument réussi à tous points de vue, et il vaut bien plus que ce que son prix pourrait laisser penser.
Si vous cherchez un bon saxophone, fiable, à la sonorité agréable et qui projette bien, n’hésitez pas : vous ne le regretterez pas. Il rivalise avec des instruments beaucoup plus chers…

The BetterSax classic Tenorsaxophone from Thomann arrived today. I’m excited about this great tenor saxophone. It plays super light and all tones come almost by themselves and very clean and clear. What more could you want. Great sound and the paintwork is awesome. Thank you BetterSax and Thomann for this great tenor saxophone. I love it.

Han corregido algunos errores desde que salió. A mi gusto el tudel queda en una posición algo diferente a otros saxos que he tenido, aunque no es incómodo, me gusta menos y el corcho es algo fino, lo que hace que no se agarren bien algunas boquillas. Esto es todo lo malo que he visto, el resto fantástico por el precio.
