I bought the Kala primarily to hand it over to me granddaughter for when she's old enough. I never played one before (I'm a 73 year-old guitarist) so my remarks are not based on any experience. However having played a couple of tunes on it I was really surprised by the sound quality and volume for such a small instrument. It's easy to handle and very light in weight. I think my granddaughter will have to wait a little longer for this new addition.
